I still dont have idea, why some people said that Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadow is a disaster compared to the first movie. Well, akhirnya pada jumat (28/01/2012) kemarin saya bisa menyaksikan film favorit saya ini dibioskop. secara sebulan kebelakang saya disibukkan dengan ujian. I dont want to made a long review, so i just want to make the point, that  this movie was absolutely fantastic. More entertaining than the first movie. I have been waiting for it for like forever for this sequel.  The storyline was clever, the dynamic between Watson and Holmes was charming and beautiful, also the effects were incredible.

I love the chemistry between Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law ( i could called it bromance, very cute LOL). Their chemistry and interactions are perfect, both its like had fun with the script and with each other. Jared Harris as Professor Moriarty gives a solid performance, as a cold, manipulative villain. Unlike Mark Strong in the first film (i dont like him btw) and Noomi Rapace is a nice flavor as Madam Sim ( i think wanna see Girl with Dragon tatoo original film after this).

Game of Shadows is gripping, exciting, hilarious, and even draws tears. You’ll be cheering throughout and satisfied with the end. For me It is absolutely one of the best movies of this year. I couldnt wait for the next sequel yay! (score: 9/10)

I had heard Gavin’s singles in the past (I don’t wanna be, we belong together, in love with the girl, an d more), and liked them, but to be honest, hadn’t really paid any attention to him before. I heard “Not Over You” on the radio, and then decide to hear his full album. Now, I listened to Sweeter all day (LOL).

If you’re a Gavin DeGraw fan already, you shouldn’t be disappointed here. Just finished listening through it once and I love it! The album is more soul than pop-rock (I think..).  His voice is so smooth and the lyrics are amazing. Those songs are catchy, melodic and entertaining, the music and lyrics here are superb across the album. Very recommended (score: 8/10)

Jason Mraz has kicked off the new year with a special gift for his devoted fans. A new song called ‘I Won’t Give Up,’ which he premiered on YouTube on Tuesday (cambio)

Oh, its been a couple year (4 years?) since a big hit like ‘Im Yours’ huh? ‘I Wont Give Up’ is a new song from Mraz’s new album. ‘I Wont Give Up’ is simply ballad with very great lyrics. The song has a different direction after the first chorus (which is i loved it!), The lyrics tell the story of a man who will not give up on his love. The song is simple, but has unforgettable melody, very beautiful song.  I Think ‘I Wont Give Up’ is one of the best Mraz’s single in his career, also i think this song will be my favourite song of this year!!

Book Description :
First published in 1974, The Front Runner raced to international acclaim, best selling novel and touted as being the first novel about gay love to become popular with mainstream. It was the first book of contemporary gay fiction to reach the New York Times Best Seller List. As of 2006 more than 10 million copies had been sold. It had been translated into at least nine languages, including English, Japanese, German, French, Danish, Swedish, Dutch, and Italian.

Synopsis:

Although the title refers to another character, The Front Runner is the story of Harlan Brown, the track coach at fictitious Prescott College, a new, small, progressive, experimental private liberal arts college sixty miles from New York City

The story begins in late 1974 and ends in early 1978, with occasional flashbacks giving information about Harlan’s past. When the story begins, Harlan is thirty nine years old, graduate from Villanova University (where he both ran and coached track) and rigdly closeted homosexual. He was fired as coach from Penn State University because of untrue accusations of sexual misconduct from a male student on his track team. The episode also ended Harlan’s unhappy married; his ex-wife and two adolescence sons appear briefly in flashback. Then, he met Joe Prescott who gave him a job as athletic director at Prescott College. Harlan, a tough, lonely ex-Marine of 39, Harlan has never allowed himself to love another man.

 Then Billy Sive, a brilliant young runner, shows up on his doorstep. He and his two comrades, Vince Matti and Jacques LaFont, were just thrown off a major team for admitting they are gay. Harlan knows that, with proper training, Billy could go to the ’76 Olympics in Montreal. He agrees to coach the three boys under strict conditions that thwart Billy’s growing attraction for his mature but compelling mentor. The lean, graceful frontrunner with gold-rim glasses sees directly into Harlan’s heart. Billy’s gentle and open acceptance of his sexuality makes Harlan afraid to confront either the pain of his past, or the challenges which lay in wait if their intimacy is exposed.

But when Coach Harlan Brown finds himself falling in love with his most gifted athlete, he must combat his true feelings for Billy or risk the outrage of the entire sports world – and their only chance at Olympic gold.

My Review:                                                         

Alright, so, a couple days ago, I finished reading this book. I absolutely blown away (although some words made me confused, because iam Indonesian native and not really great in English).

Iam straight women (I say this, because I want to make it clear that this book touched my heart, it does not mater at all your sexual orientation). And since I was a very liberal thought women, homosexual aspect didn’t bother me.

The love story between Billy the runner and Harlan his coach is quite special. Harlan Brown, a runner coach was falsely accused of molesting a former student and had to resign from his coaching job at another school. His wife divorced him, and taking his two young son. Frustrated, Harlan turns to hustling, and when someone offers him chance to coach a new team at new school he took a chance. He leave his dreadful life, he coaches then meet and falling in love with Billy Sive, his most gifted athlete. There are three main threads in the novel, a love story, running and gay rights. The author took a traditionally male environment and keep the two main frole, Harlan and Billy very focused on the masculine.

The ending are touched my heart,  I cried, not only once, but a couple times, also, I almost cry everytime I remember the ending or the story.  Its so sad, and upset (me) to see so many homophobic people in the world in story and real life.

It is wonderful to read how billy changes Harlan’ life and makes Harlan’s deep seated unhappiness dissolve. Love has healing power like no other human emotion. Harlan coaches Billy on the track but Billy taches the older man to love. And I fell in love with Billy as much as Harlan Brown did!  Billy is mature, peacefull mind, genuine, kind, and almost perfect man. Its simpy great love story, heatwarming also heartbreaking at the end, this book moved me to tears as I read the final chapters.

I was worried at first time I couldn’t match because the story happen in 1974. But I was wrong, The Front Runner is one of the best book I have ever read, painfully moving, uplifting, and extremely hot. It is a beautiful written book, (thank you Mr. Warren!). In this book, you are able to feel the character’s emotions so deeply, you hurt when they hurt, laugh when they laugh, and cry when they cry. Its truly remarkable tale about love, destiny, passion, and search for the special love. Very beautiful stories. Throughout all of this a wonderful story.

Women, men,  straight, gay anyone and everyone, I recommend this novel to all.

Sebelum konser, semua penonton yang akan menuju ke venue pasti akan sedikit stress karena kemacetan yang luar biasa. Perjalanan dari rumah saya ke venue yang seharusnya memakan waktu hanya 1 jam, menjadi hampir 2,5 jam. Sesampai di Taman Bhagawan, untuk masuk penonton diharuskan menjalani 3x pengecekan tiket. Dan ternyata sebagian besar penonton adalah turis asing. Sebagian penonton juga berasal dari luar Bali dan banyak terdapat artis-artis Indonesia di kelas VIP (dimana saya sempat bertemu dan berfoto dengan artist Indonesia fave saya, Julie Estelle), dan lagu Mraz terbaru The World As I See IT menjadi lagu pembuka konser, yang mana saat itu saya dan ribuan atau ratusan orang lainnya masih mengantri di luar mulai menjadi panik (LOL).

Sesampai di VIP Class, saya yang terlewat 2 lagu, karena panjangnya antrian, disambut dengan lagu  If It Kills Me, yeah Jason, you’re killed me with your amazing performance! semua lagu ditampilkan secara akustik dengan bantuan Toca Rivera, dengan alat tabuhnya, yang saya tidak tau apa namanya. Dilanjutkan dengan lagu Make It Mine, dan encore Moon/Lucky. Jason menyanyikan Lucky sendiri, dengan mengubah-ubah suaranya pada bagian colbie caillat, female voice or something, and it was fantastic, audience are laughed happily. You and I Both dan Remedy juga dimainkan, yang mana, dua lagu dari album pertama mraz ini adalah juga menjadi lagu favorit saya. Semua penonton sangat semangat ikut bernyanyi di bagian refrain (termasuk saya tentunya),  penonton dengan santai ikut bergoyang, bahkan di belakang saya ada pasangan artis (yang saya tidak tau namanya) berpelukan sambil menikmati konser, so sweet kan?

Mr. Curiousity menjadi lagu selanjutnya, dibawakan dengan penuh penjiwaan oleh Mraz, yang menurut saya ini adalah performance terbaik (diantara yang terbaik) dari konser malam itu. Jason bisa mengontrol suaranya sambil fasih bermain gitar (di semua lagu), dan menyertakan opera part cukup panjang (lebih panjang dari versi studio lagu Mr. Curiousituy sendiri), dan saya speechless…..He has amazing vocal ability ! semua penonton bertepuk tangan (yang saya yakin mereka juga se-speechless saya).

Setelah beberapa lagu, Butterfly akhirnya ditampilkan penonton (khususnya saya) seperti juga menjadikan lagu ini sebagai lagu wajib untuk disaksikan secara live. Dirty and sexy lyrics (my thought), Jason totally nailed it, with amazing vocal ability and music performance. This is called the REAL ARTIST! Jason sendiri terlihat sangat santai, dia hanya memakai kaos, jeans, dan bandana/topi. Berkali kali ia mengganti gitar, dan mengucapkan kata-kata bahasa Indonesia dan Jepang (why Japan?).

Im Yours dan Life is Wonderful menjadi dua lagu penutup. Semua penonton  bernyanyi bersama saat Im Yours dilantunkan, dan Jason juga sempat bercanda, memainkan vocalnya di tengah-tengah lagu, yes, Jason memang bisa membuat versi-versi berbeda dari suara, its pretty cool!

Meski simple dengan music akustik, namun  menurut saya, konser ini berlangsung nyaris sempurna, vocal Jason Mraz yang sempurna (seriously, his live performance are better than his recordings!) mampu menghiptonis semua penonton yang sangat enjoy menikmati performancenya selama konser berlangsung.

Suasana dalam venue yang sangat nyaman menambah kesempurnaan konser ini, dibelakang stage adalah pantai, dan membuat penonton sangat nyaman karena tidak kepanasan. Namun jalan raya menuju venue dan parkir adalah nightmare, kemacetan terbayar dengan kesempurnaan konser ini.

Final Thought:

Although I like Jason since 2003 (a fan since Remedy), but after this concert, im officially no more like, but IN LOVE, and turned into a super big fan, he was fantastic and real artist! He can do anything; sing pop, opera, rap and tricks with his voice. I love everything about HIM!

THIS! Finally my dreams come true!!

Setelah menunggu dan bermimpi selama 10 tahun lamanya untuk bertemu dan menyaksikan konser Linkin Park secara live, akhirnya impian saya menjadi kenyataan. Pada tanggal 21 September 2011 akhirnya saya berhasil menyaksikan konser yang telah saya tunggu-tunggu sejak usia 10 tahun, dan tidak hanya itu sebagai LPU (Linkin Park Underground) Annual Member, saya juga mendapat invitation Meet&Greet  sebelum konser di mulai dengan Linkin Park!!

Saya tiba di Jakarta satu hari sebelum konser Linkin Park di Jakarta. Saya menginap di Harris FX Suites Hotel (great hotel and best services ever!) di lantai paling atas yakni 47, dimana saya bisa melihat GBK dengan jelasnya. Keesokan harinya, pagi hari saya lari pagi untuk mengelilingi GBK yang mana sangat dekat dengan Hotel saya menginap. Terdapat bermacam-macam kelas untuk konser Linkin Park di GBK ini, dengan pintu masuk berbeda tentunya. Tribun di bagi menjadi Yellow Class, Green, Blue, VVIP, Presidential Box, Purple, dan Orange. Sedangkan festival hanya kira dan kanan (A&B). Setelah berkeliling dan menemukan pintu masuk festival A, saya kembali ke hotel. Pada pukul 11.30, saya kembali ke GBK bersama beberapa teman, untuk mengikuti gathering fans Linkin Park Indonesia. Gathering berlangsung sangat menarik dan saya sangat senang bertemu banyak teman disana. Pada pukul 2 siang, saya mendapat email mengenai tempat meet&greet Linkin Park yang ternyata berada di GBK, namun terpisah dari venue.

THE MEET AND GREAT!!! Tepat pukul 5 sore, saya dan orang-orang yang terpilih untuk mengikuti meet&greet telah menunggu di depan pintu ruangan yang nantinya akan menjadi tempat meet&greet. Namun ternyata kami harus menunggu hingga lebih dari 2 jam, lantaran pesawat jet Linkin Park tiba terlambat di Jakarta. Kira-kira pukul 7 malam, meet&greet dimulai. Meet&greet ini dibagi menjadi 2. 
Orang-orang yang mengikuti meet&greet dari pemenang quiz, masuk terlebih dahulu dan hanya mendapat waktu 10 menit. Sedangkan saya dan para LPU lainnya mendapat waktu lebih lama, dimana saya yakin nantinya kami akan masuk LPTV episode hahahahaa….

SUPER NERVOUS!! Yes, ketika memasuki ruangan kecil meet&greet saya merasakan jantung saya berdebar kencang, panas dingin, dan speechless. Akhirnya saya dapat MELIHAT LINKIN PARK DI DEPAN MATA SAYA DALAM JARAK SEKITAR 30CM!! and its real!! Ok, we will talk about them, each person. Start from Brad, ternyata dia tidak banyak berbeda dengan yang ada di TV, namun lebih ganteng dan putih. Begitu juga dengan Rob dan Phoenix. Joe terlihat lucu dengan rambut yang ia ikat!! Dan yang paling membuat saya berhenti bernafas adalah Mike Shinoda dan Chester Bennington, the both frontman, duduk bersebelahan (yes, almost in every meet&greet they’re always sit close/together). Chester yang biasanya kita lihat kecil di tv, ternyata sangat tinggi, dan tattoonya benar-benar art. Mereka berdua juga sangat tampan, 10x lebih tampan dari tv/fto. Putih dan sangat mulussss (their skin and face)!!! DAMN! WHAT A GOD CREATURE!, dan mereka semua sangat ramah! Terutama Chester, yang mana dia sangat sungguh-sungguh mendengarkan perkataan fans dan berbicara dengan sangat lembut OMG! Tepat di depan Chester saya memberikan destar bali (sejenis topi), dan Chester memakainya, dia bahkan menunjukkan destar tersebut kepada Mike (yang masih menandatangani), dan mereka tertawa bersama. Saya juga memberikan buku tentang Bali Island kepada Mike, yang mana saya benar-benar nervous dan speechless, saking gugupnya saya tidak tau/ingat apa yang saya katakana panjang lebar, dan bahasa inggris saya menjadi kacau (sepertinya), namun astaga, Mike tetap mendengarkan dengan sungguh-sungguh, GOD! Mike is very charismatic, handsome and warm person! Rob is super quite and Phoenix is very funny guy! Saat menandatangani CD ats saya, dia menggerakkan tangan boneka (dari fans) untuk menandatangani CD saya, cute!! Semuanya THE BEST MOMENT EVER!

FINALLY THE CONCERT!! Sehabis meet&greet saya dan yang lainnya langsung berlari keluar untuk menuju gate masing-masing. Saya masuk melalui pintu merah untuk menuju festival A bersama 3 teman saya. Alhasil kami mendapat tempat berdiri paling belakang, namun akhirnya setelah 30 menitan, saya berhasil maju hingga ke depan (menerobos dong!), hingga 3-4 row. Konser dibuka dengan intro The Requiem dan dilanjutkan dengan Papercut. Dan tidak salah berada di Festival, orang –orang di kelas ini benar-benar GILA (IN A GOODLY WAY!), mereka loncat, berjingkrak, bernyanyi dengan penuh semangat lagu demi lagu, TOTALLY COOL! Meski bersesak-sesak namun saya tidak menyesal karena THIS IS ROCKS!!. Given Up dan New Divide menjadi lagu selanjutnya yang mereka bawakan, meski semua basah keringat saya untuk pertama kalinya menggila dengan ikut berteriak, loncat dan atraksi seperti penonton festival lainnya. Chester benar-benar menunjukkan semua vokalnya dengan maksimal, suatu performance yang luar biasa untuk laki-laki usia 35 tahun yang masih memiliki teriakan sama seperti ketika 10 tahun lalu! What a creature! Selanjutnya, Faint, dimana penonton kembali menggila, yes everybody know this song and LOVED it!!! Dilanjutkan When They Come For Me!, dimana Chester ikut bermain alat music sejenis drum! Cool! Mike juga sangat powerfull. Waiting For The End menjadi track selanjutnya dmana semua orang ikut mengangkat tangan ke atas dan GBK malam itu benar benar dibakar api semangat!! Saya tidak sempat melihat ke area tribun (dimana terdapat 15 hingga 20 ribu orang lebih disana karena pandangan saya terus mengarah ke depan panggung! Mike is amazing, setiap ngerap dia hampir  selalu membawa gitarnya kemana-mana. Ketika Iridescent dimainkan, saya nyaris menangis karena lagu ini begitu emosional, Mike dan Chester menyanyi dengan indahnya, begitu juga dengan personel LP lainnya yang bermain tanpa cacat, saat gang vocal, semua bernyanyi, dan sekali lagi tidak salah saya memilih festival, meski dorong-dorong dan bersesakan, namun 90 persen dari mereka hafal lagu-lagu LP dan bernyanyi bersama.

Numb. Yes! Ketika lagu ini dibawakan, semua penonton bernyanyi, seolah lagu kebangsaan merah putih telah tergantikan oleh lagu Numb sejuta umat ini hahahaa… everyone LOVED THIS SONG! Breaking the Habit dan Shadow of The Day menjadi lagu selanjutnya, yang mana semangat penonton di GBK masih tetap ON FIRE! Chester bernyanyi dengan 1000% penjiwaan! I SWEAR! Lagu selanjutnya Crawling dan One Step Closer, saya sempat khawatir karena sebagian besar lagu yang mereka bawakan menuntut Chester untuk selalu berteriak-teriak,tapi kekhawatiran saya lenyap, Chester bernyanyi sangat bagus, kesana kemari, menjelajahi panggung dengan penuh semangat, membuat saya dan penonton semakin histeris, dan sayangnya Mike lebih banyak menghabiskan waktu dengan piano/gitar dan lebih sering berdiri di tengah panggung. (ps. Mike kembali memakai baju favoritnya, yaitu kemej kotak-kotak hitam yang sangat sering ia pakai dalam shownya J )

Fallout, The Catalyst dan Blackout menjadi 3 lagu selanjutya, its amazing!!! Mereka bernyanyi dan bermusik tanpa lelah and theyre care and LOVED the audience!! And yeah, mike still in the centet stage. Saat In The End dimainkan, penonton tambah menjadi heboh lagi. Mike yang biasanya turun ke Festival B, saat bridge lagu, untungnya tidak turun (karena hal itu akan membuat saya jealous setengah mati, karena saya berada di Festival A ). Mike maju ke depan, dengan membawa mic panjang, dan mengarahkannya ke audience, WOW!! Semua penonton festival maju ke depan, karena heboh ingin menyentuh mike (but they couldn’t LOL), then What Ive Done , menjadi spektakuler, dimana Chester menyertakan teriakan di bagian bridge, (seperti yang ia sering lakukan di konser2 di eropa). LINKIN PARK ARE AMAZING!!! THANKS GOD FOR CREATED AMAZING CREATURE LIKE THEM!!! Konser di tutup dengan encore Bleed it Out dan A Place For My Head, Rob bermain drum solo, super cool!, selesai konser, mereka melempar souvenir, Chester dan Mike berangkulan dan maju ke depan untuk mengucapkan terimakasih. Penonton beramai-ramai mengatakan ‘We Want More’ sayangnya show tetap harus selesai.

Selesai konser, nyaris pukul 11 malam, badan saya terasa patah dan remuk, namun saya sangat puas, Thank God, impian saya sejak usia 10 tahun, menjadi kenyataan, saya sangat berterimakasih kepada kedua orang tua saya yang telah membiayai seluruh perjalanan saya ke Jakarta, also my brother who bought me the ticket (because I have no enough money to bought it), also friends and Linkin Park. THEY’RE AMAZING!!! Saya sangat berharap mereka akan kembali lagi ke Indonesia, I WANT MORE ! HAHAHA J , So, Finally after a long waiting, mimpi saya menjadi kenyataan, ingin rasanya saya mengatakan banyak hal saat meet&greet namun rasa gugup membuat saya tidak mengatakan semuanya. LINKIN PARK IS THE NICEST BAND ON THE EARTH, THE GREATEST and MY FAVORITE BAND ALL TIME. I will still love them, their music until the next decade I think, until I get married, have a child, I will, I WILL STILL A BIG FAN OF THEM!! THANK YOU LINKIN PARK (MIKE,CHAZ,PHI,JOE,ROB,BRAD)! YOU GUYS MEANS EVERYTHING TO ME!!

Menurut saya sendiri, Interim adalah salah satu album terbaik yang pernah saya dengar. Hanya ada 5 lagu dalam mini album ini, dikemas dengan music yang minimalis, yakni hanya permainan piano saja. Meski dikatakan akustik, namun menurut saya album ini sangat luar biasa dan benar benar breathtaking Permainan piano dan suara, improvisasi dan gaya bernyanyi Ferras mengingatkan saya akan Elton John, he’s like the younger version of Elton! Dari 5 lagu, 3 lagu yang menjadi favorit saya adalah Wall Around My Heart, Ghost dan menurut saya, lagu terbaik sepanjang karirnya (which is being one of my fave single all the time) adalah Phantom Song. Wall Around My Heart sudah pernah saya bahas beberapa bulan lalu.

Phantom Song, yang menjadi lagu terbaik di EP ini, yeah words cant described how fuc*in perfect-great-artistic-powerful-and-awesome this song! Nuansa sedih dan lost bisa tergambar dalam lagu ini, ‘and star body will you guide me home cause somebody left me alone’ . Mendengar lagu ini menurut saya sama halnya melihat sebuah film. Karena benar benar terdapat klimaks yakni permainan piano dan falsetto yang Ia nyanyikan, dan di akhir lagu saya merinding mendengar sebuah kejutan lewat suaranya. Its perfect!

Sayang sekali Ferras tidak mengikuti sahabat baiknya Katy Perry, untuk menjadi seorang penyanyi komersial. Ia bisa dikatakan hanyalah penyanyi indie yang bermusik hanya untuk kesenangan. Seolah tidak mau merilis album, Ia lebih banyak menulis lagu untuk beberapa penyanyi, serta menyanyi di tempat-tempat seperti hotel atau café.  In my opinion, Ferras is one of the most talented guys I’ve heard in ages. Wish I coul hear more album or songs from him , this is very recommended album!

Final Thought:

This album is a simple concept that is simply breathtaking. There are only two elements to this EP: Ferras’ voice and him playing piano. No engineering tricks, no overdubbing, mixing or adding of other elements to hide flaws or inabilities. Piano…voice…music…lyrics… are PERFECT! And again. Interim is five beautiful songs that mixes artistic ability with musical talent. Give your ears, your mood, your heart, and your soul a wonderful treat: Listen to Ferras’ “INTERIM” very reccomended!

i dont know, but i want to write about some random things/thought which is (i think) happened to me during my hiatus period.

* Why do people hurt most those they love?

We trust them and we know deep in our hearts that, no matter what we do, they won’t stop loving us. We feel safe to take our frustrations on them because we think there will be no consequences.

We’re angry and frustrated with ourselves. By trying to hurt them, we try in fact to hurt ourselves. We think we don’t deserve anything good, so we aim at the good things we have in life and unconsciously try to destroy them.

* I think I might have bipolar disorder? am i?

i have noticed that my moods have been changing alot, i have been really happy and feeling like nothing can stop me and then for no reason i feel really angry with some things and sometimes angry about small unimportant things, i also get really depressed, cried, or something. Then the next days, i wake up and regret those stupid things.

* I need more sleep:(

internship, sahur, fasting and other business, etc made my sleep is not enough. I normally sleep for seven hours per night. During internship and fasting day i go to bed something around 12 am then wake up at 4.30am for sahur (because im muslim), after that i couldnt sleep anymore. it means i only sleep for 4 hours. But it doesnt matter because i got a lot of things which is important in my life. since this weekend till september i think i could sleep all day long, HAHAHA:)

* You cant make people like you

You can’t actually make someone like you. You can like other people, but you can not make them like you back. what im talking about its not about lover. im talking about friend or work partner.

Well, I have been reluctant to say officially that I am taking a break from my blog, especially since I have no time to post anything, also in the next 1 month i’m gonna take an internship:(
